Interesting information Pat
Stourbridge has been a major centre of the glass industry since at least the late 17th century, mainly due to coal and clay availability.
A Glass Blower was a skilled artisan, but not a very well paid one. So it is interesting that his son was able to be apprenticed to one of the more expensive trades in the City of London, a distinct sign of the upward mobility of the period for provincial lads.
