BANTING, Aaron (Grimwade p.355)

Just a suggestion but Aaron Barling Goldsmith who was from the same location as Aaron Banting and who was around in the correct era may be the person Grimwade is referring to in this entry. The fact that I can find nothing at all about an Aaron Banting also supports this idea.
