Recorded as a Working Silversmith of 11, Foster Lane, Cheapside.

He shares his premises with Terrey & Co. who were also described as Working Silversmiths.

John P. Fallon mentioned Samuel Hennell died in 1837 (The Marks of the London Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Georgian Period (c 1698-1837) : A Guide, p.174), which couldn't be found in Grimwade's book or anywhere else.

Samuel seems retired in 1819 or so, at least I didn't see any of his work bears a later mark.

Pursuant to the notice inserted in the West Briton paper, a meeting of the friends of Parliamentary Reform in Cornwall, was held at Bodmin, on Monday, the 13th of April, 1818, for the purpose of presenting to John Colman Rashleigh, Esq. a piece of Plate, prepared in compliance with the following resolution, proposed by Colonel Peter, on the 11th of March, 1817, the day of the last County meeting:—

"That a piece of Plate be presented to John Colman Rashleigh, Esq. as an humble but sincere testimony of the respect and admiration with which the friends of Parliamentary Reform, in this County, regard his private virtues and his public conduct; and as a Memorial to his Posterity, of the estimation in which the County of Cornwall hold the distinguished talents, the powerful eloquence, the unshaken integrity, and the undeviating consistency, which have been manifested by him in these eventful times."

About two o'clock the company sat down to an excellent dinner at Jewel's hotel. Edward Wynne Pendarves, Esq. was in the chair, supported by Sir William Pratt Call, Bart., Edmond John Glynn, Esq., the Rev. Mr. Walker, &c. &c. On the cloth being removed—the King; the Duke of Cornwall; the Lord Lieutenant of the County; and the Members for the County, were given from the chair. Mr. Pendarves then shortly addressed the meeting, and gave—"That which has been the object of all our Meetings; and may we live to see it accomplished—A Reform In Parliament; which was drank with three times three.

The piece of Plate was then brought forward. It is a silver Cup or Vase of most excellent workmanship, admirably executed under the direction of Mr. Pendarves, by Mr. Samuel Hennell, of Foster Lane, London. On one side is engraved; "In "Liberty's Defence;" and opposite, "Presented to John Colman Rashleigh Esq. for his exertions in the cause of Parliamentary Reform, A. D. 1817." Between these inscriptions, on one side, are the arms of the County; and on the other, those of Mr. Rashleigh.
