Peter Gaspard Gresse was possibly born around 1715 and a native of Rolle, on the Lake of Geneva, Switzerland; he died in 1771. I find no primary records that tie this man specifically to P G Gresse, but I believe this is the person referred to in this Grimwade listing, and that this has probably been obvious to many for a long time.
