SUMNER, Mary (Grimwade p.674)

4 August 1778 Mary daughter of William and Mary (Pearsall) Sumner of Clerkenwell Close birth registered at Dr Williams Library at Red Cross Street near Cripplegate (Protestant Dissenter's Registry). This raises the question for me as to whether it was William Sumner's wife or daughter Mary that registered her marks.

6 February 1827 Mary Sumner of Brighton in the County of Sussex and formerly of Clerkenwell Close in the Parish of Saint James Clerkenwell in the County of Middlesex Spinster will proved at London. She mentions her Sister Elizabeth as well as her Uncle Sumner who is also mentioned in her Sister Elizabeth's later will. Thomas Hayter was an Executor and George Smith Hayter was one of the witnesses (Grimwade p.541)
