Entered a mark as bucklemaker at Red Lion Street, Clerkenwell .
Described as “wool sack “ punch by Grimwade. Several bucklemakers in the 1740 - 1760 period used this shape of punch

Mark seen on pair of pierced convex tongs and, so far, on ONE buckle !

Sun Insurance policy for £900 in the names of
Samuel Newton Reviere & Thomas Parfit, Jewellers and Goldsmiths, 23, New Bond Street
Heal (p232) gives Samuel Newton Riviere as Goldsmith & Jeweller , 68, New Bond Street 1782 - 1808, followed by Riviere & Son at at he same address in 1809. And also in Bath and Cheltenham.
S.N.Riviere was one of the signatories to the Buckle Trades Petition to King George III in 1792
