He may have been the son of Samuel Massey of the Wheelwrights Company apprenticed to James Kingman (Grimwade p.572) of the Goldsmiths Company in 1763 and free in 1770-71.
He entered a mark in 1773 at Goldsmiths’ Hall as a small worker from “Mr Ford’s”, 8 Fetter Lane.
Samuel Massey, a jeweller, married Elizabeth Roberts of St Mildred parish, Poultry at St Andrew Undershaft in 1780.
He entered a mark in 1780 at Goldsmiths’ Hall as a gold worker from 104 Leadenhall Street.
