Goldworkers List (Section VII).

The 1851 UK Census records he was born in Colchester, Essex around 1792.
William Leavers, the son of a hairdresser of the same name from Red Lion Street, signed indentures in 1807 to be the apprentice of John Hamson or Harrison of the Goldsmiths Company and jeweller of Aldersgate Street. He was made free in 1814.
He married Harriet Esmerelda Bayley at St Michael, Bassishaw in 1817; both were from that parish.
William, the son of William Leavers a jeweller of Sutton Street and his wife Harriet, was christened at St James, Clerkenwell in 1819.
The 1841 UK Census listed William aged 49 years and Harriet aged 51years at Nottingham Park, Bilborough, Nottinghamshire where he continued as a jeweller.
They were at Park Street, Islington in 1851 where he was a merchant.
