Thomas HAILES, the son of Jebby of Ipswich, Suffolk, who was apprenticed in 1769 to Henry Billinghurst (Grimwade p.441) of the Clockmakers Company and made free in 1777.
He signed a bond in 1779 as a watch case maker from St Botolph, Aldersgate parish to marry Elizabeth Bowen.
Their son Thomas was christened at St John the Baptist, Clerkenwell in 1780.
He entered a mark at Goldsmiths’ Hall in 1784 as a case maker from 8 Silver Street, Wood Street.
He was listed on page 171 of Watch and Clockmakers of the World working from Huggin Lane but no date is mentioned.
No later information has been found for him.
