He was the son of John de Wilde deceased, ships' chandler of St Martin, Ludgate, apprenticed in 1722 to John Patrick of the Joyners Company.
He married Mary Taylor at St Clement Dane in 1729 and their daughter Mary Ann was christened at St Martin, Ludgate in 1733.
He entered a mark at Goldsmiths Hall in 1736 from Ship Court, Old Bailey probably as a case maker.
He was assessed to Land Tax on property in Ship Court from 1733-1766. A new tenant was assessed there in 1767.
The Will of John Dewilde, gentleman of Lower Holloway, which was granted probate on 12th December 1766 may be relevant.
