HALL, William Snooke (Grimwade p.531)

Alternative information to Grimwade’s speculation as to the origins of William Snooke Hall is a christening record in 1793 at St Mary Magdalene, Old Fish Street showing this name as the son of Francis and Mary Hall.
William Snooke, the son of Francis Hall, was free by patrimony in the Haberdashers Company in 1819.
These details appear to more accurately match the entry of a mark at Goldsmiths Hall in 1818 by William Snooke Hall as a small worker from Asby Street.
There was a christening recorded at St Stephen, Canonbury Road, Islington in May 1844 of Fanny Mary born in 1822 the daughter of William Snooke and Fanny Hall. The entry shows he was then a surveyor from Rectory Row.
His burial aged 51 years in October 1844, late of Wellington Street, was recorded at St James, Pentonville.
