COKER, Ebenezer (Grimwade p.467-8)

His first marriage was to Mary Cadman at St Andrew by the Wardrobe in 1738.
His second marriage to Elizabeth Ramsey in 1739 is detailed by Grimwade.
Again a widower his third marriage was to widow Margaret Carman at St Andrew, Holborn in 1766. He was from St James, Clerkenwell parish.
Although mentioned in the individual biographies of Thomas Chawner (page 463) and John Lambe (page 574) it is notable in his own right that Coker was master in both their apprenticeships.
As well as being a goldsmith and silversmith trade directory entries show he was also in trade as a jeweller.
His death in 1783 is noted by Grimwade. Coker’s burial was recorded at St James, Clerkenwell.
