WOODS, Charles (Grimwade p.357)

Goldworkers List (Section VII).

He was christened the son of John and Sarah Woods at St Luke, Finsbury in 1787. His father was a buckle cutter.
His marriage to Ann Pearce was recorded at Christ Church, Newgate Street in 1823; both were from that parish.
Their son Thomas and daughter Ann were christened at St Luke’s in 1827 and 1830 respectively. Their address was Rahere Street and their father a jeweller.
Charles entered a mark at Goldsmiths Hall in 1830 as a gold worker from 17 Rahere Street
He was at 19 Rahere Street in 1841 and still a jeweller.
His burial in 1843 aged 57 years, late of the same address, was recorded at St Luke’s.
The 1851 Census for the same address shows his son Thomas continuing as a jeweller.
