His last mark was entered in 1825 from 16 Clerkenwell Green which is the address entered in christening records at St James, Clerkenwell in 1827-30 for three sons of William John Fielder, watch maker and wife Ann Eleanor.
They had moved to Gloucester Street by 1837 where their eldest son William George died.
The 1841 UK Census records William senior there as a watch maker aged 50 years.
His death in 1849 was registered in Clerkenwell.
The Directory of Gold & Silversmiths Jewellers & Allied Traders 1838-1914 Vol. I p.157 by John Culme notes that Ann Fielder succeeded to the business after her husband’s death which is confirmed by the 1851 UK Census record. She had retired from the business by 1861.
