BELLOWS, Robert (Grimwade p.315, 345)

He was born about 1795 in Christchurch, Surrey.
His marriage to Rebecca Hague in 1819 was at St Luke, Finsbury.
A maker’s mark was entered at Goldsmiths Hall in 1820 as a watch case maker from 17 Locks Gardens, Bowling Green Lane, Clerkenwell, the address noted on the christening record of daughter Jane Hague at St James, Clerkenwell in 1821. The record showed her father as a goldsmith.
Christening records for three more of their children at St James in 1827 showed their address as Corporation Court where their father was a jeweller.
Another maker’s mark was entered in 1828 as a pendant maker from 11 Tonks? Gardens, Bowling Green Lane.
His wife Rebecca’s burial aged 35 in 1831, late of Corporation Court, was recorded at St James.
His marriage to Elly Archer in 1832 was also at St James.
He notified Goldsmiths Hall he had moved to 14 Corporation Court, Clerkenwell in 1833.
Christening records for three of their children at St James in 1840 showed their address as Whiskin Street and Robert again as a goldsmith.
The 1841 and 1851 UK Census show him as a watch pendant maker from 9 Whiskin Street, Clerkenwell.
He notified the change of address to Whiskin Street in 1842.
His burial in 1857 aged 62 years, late of Whiskin Street, was recorded at St James, St Pancras.

The Will of Robert Bellows, watch pendant maker late of Clerkenwell, was proved for probate on 13th October 1857 (National Archives reference PROB 11/2258/267).
