He was christened at St Peter, Leeds in 1787.
He entered a maker’s mark at Goldsmiths Hall in 1836 as a spectacle case maker from 3 Crane Court, Fleet Street. In 1842 he entered another mark at the Sheffield Assay Office from Division Street, Sheffield.
The 1851 UK Census recorded him at Wilkinson Street, Ecclesall Bierlow, Sheffield as an optician.
His death in 1853 was recorded in the Ecclesall Bierlow register.
