CUTTS, John Priston (Grimwade p.306)

He was christened at St Peter, Leeds in 1787.
He entered a maker’s mark at Goldsmiths Hall in 1836 as a spectacle case maker from 3 Crane Court, Fleet Street. In 1842 he entered another mark at the Sheffield Assay Office from Division Street, Sheffield.
The 1851 UK Census recorded him at Wilkinson Street, Ecclesall Bierlow, Sheffield as an optician.
His death in 1853 was recorded in the Ecclesall Bierlow register.

His death is recorded in the third quarter 1858 index for Ecclesall Bierlow and in the England & Wales, National Probate Calendar (Index of Wills and Administrations), 1858-1966 with the date 3 September 1858 and last address Broomsgrove-crescent, Ecclesall Bierlow Township.

The typograghical inexactitude in the earlier post as to the year of Cutts' death being 1853 stands corrected
