COUTA, Benedict (Grimwade p.289)

Post by MCB »

He married Gertrude Lemaitre at St Mary, Islington in 1791; both were from that parish.
He entered a maker’s mark at Goldsmiths Hall in 1791 as a gold worker from 3 Cross Lane, Long Acre.
Two of their children were christened in Soho in 1792 and 1795 and another christened at St George, Bloomsbury in 1800. The records contain no further information.
The burial of a Mark Benedict Couta aged 47 years late of Woburn Court is recorded at St George, Bloomsbury in 1816 and may be relevant.
