He married Mary Ann Jarvis in 1824 at St James, Clerkenwell; both were from that parish but Census records show Mary Ann was born in Stafford.
The christening records for their two children at St James, Clerkenwell in 1826 & 1827 show their address as Goswell Street and their father as a silversmith and a goldsmith respectively.

The 1856 marriage record for his son Samuel James shows his father’s occupation as (Corn or Coin?) Meter.
The 1861 UK Census for 6 Robinsons Row, Hackney shows him as a Sworn Deputy (Corn or Coin?) Meeter(sic).
The England & Wales Death Index for the Pancras register records his death aged 68 years in 1869.
