There is a marriage recorded in 1751 at St Pancras Old Church between Christopher Makemeid and Mary Collins.
Mary, the daughter of Christopher and Mary Makemeid, was christened at St Luke, Finsbury in 1753. The record shows her father was a silversmith.
The information appears to confirm Grimwade’s presumption that Mary (nee Collins) was Christopher’s widow when registering her mark in 1773.
No subsequent marriage or death record has been found for her.
