He married Mahala Bunn (Mahala Jago Grimwade p.559) at St Luke Finsbury in 1808; both were from that parish.
Christening records for two daughters in 1816 at St Luke show their address as Hackney Road and their father as a silversmith.
Christening records for two more of their children in 1820 at St Leonard, Shoreditch show their father continuing in the same trade and a change of address to Tabernacle Row.
The christening record at St Luke, Finsbury in June 1831for another daughter (born in 1827) names her father as James Jago, silversmith of Tabernacle Walk (probably an error which should have read Tabernacle Row).
His wife Mahala (Grimwade p.559) entered a maker’s mark at Goldsmiths Hall from Tabernacle Row in September 1830 which would suggest, despite the entry in the 1831 christening record and the absence of any trace of an official burial registration, that James had died in 1830.
