He married Lucy Chancellor at St Bartholomew the Less in 1729.
A christening record for their daughter Anne at Christ Church, Spitalgate in August 1730 shows he was at that time a silversmith at Norton Folgate and before April 1731 which was the end date Grimwade considered possible for him to have registered his maker's mark at Goldsmiths Hall.
