14 March 1722 (NS) John son of John Carman and Mary New Street baptized at Saint Brides Fleet Street London.
14 July 1758 Mary Carman Widow will proved. Her estate was under forty pounds, and her house on New Street was left to her son John. Source Citation: London Metropolitan Archives and Guildhall Library Manuscripts Section, Clerkenwell, London, England; Reference Number: AM/PW/1758/022 (not found on TNA site).
Having seen Mary Carman's and her son John's will, it is clear to me that Margaret was the name of John Carman II's wife. However, the manner she used to sign her first name made it such that it could have easily been mistaken for "Mary." She wrote Marg with an indistinct remainder to her first name above the "arg."
