He was christened the son of William and Mary at St Bartholomew the Great in 1782.
Indentures were signed in 1796 for John son of William Brough, tailor of West Smithfield to be the apprentice of William Brough the Younger, Merchant Taylor. Indentures for William Brough (the Younger) in 1786 also show his father as William, tailor of Cloth Fair. These Indentures, along with those of Thomas Brough (Grimwade p.451) and Samuel Brough (Grimwade p.451) and christening records at the same church naming the same parents show all four were brothers.
He married Margaret Cunningham at St Botolph, Aldersgate in 1807; both were from St Leonard, Shoreditch parish.
The christening records for two sons in 1813 at St Bartholomew the Great show their father as a goldsmith from 59 Pool Terrace, City Road.
No record of his death has so far been established.
