SEAMAN, William (Grimwade p.654)

Postby MCB » Mon Feb 13, 2012 7:12 am

He was born around 1781.
He married Mary Sturley of St James, Clerkenwell parish at St Luke, Finsbury in 1805.
His daughter Mary Ann from St Leonard, Shoreditch parish married John Brydie (Grimwade p.452) at St Andrew, Holborn in 1827 where he was a witness.
He had retired from the silversmith business by the time of the 1841 UK Census where he is recorded at Farringdon Street, of independent means, living with his wife, daughter and son in law.
After his daughter’s death in 1850 the 1851 UK Census recorded him as a retired silversmith still living with his son in law at the Farringdon Street address.
The England & Wales Deaths Index for the Clerkenwell register records the death of a William Seaman in 1856. This record may be relevant but it shows no age at death or last address.
