There are details recorded on Familysearch website of the christening of Louis Victor Benoiment in 1723 at Glasshouse Street & Leicester Fields French Huguwest (sic), Westminster. His parents are recorded as Richard Victor & Marie Margurite.
As a widower in 1755 he married spinster Elizabeth Bickerton of Bookham, Surrey at St Ann & St Agnes, Aldersgate. From a christening record for his daughter Mary in 1748 his first wife had also been named Elizabeth.
He entered makers’ marks at Goldsmiths Hall 1761-4 as a smallworker from Carey Lane.
As a goldsmith he paid Duty for the Apprentice Indentures of Samuel Woodyear in 1765 and Jno. Campion in 1766.
There is a burial record at St Mary, Islington in 1783 of a Lewis Benoimont aged 59 years.
