A christening in the name is recorded at St George, Bloomsbury in 1734; parents Joseph and Mary.
John Ashpinshaw, silversmith of Little Kirby Street, St Andrew Holborn paid duty in 1765 for the Apprentice Indentures of Elias Walter.
The burial of a person of the name with a last address of Leather Lane is recorded in 1798 at St Andrew, Holborn.

The Will of John Ashpinshaw, late whitesmith of St Andrew, Holborn, was proved for probate on 13th October 1798 (National Archives reference PROB11/2140/41).
