He was christened in 1779 at St John Horselydown, Bermondsey.
He married Jane Ash at St Giles, Cripplegate in 1801; both were from that parish
There are christening records for son James in 1802 and son Joseph in 1809 at Christ Church, Newgate Street; neither records the parents’ address.
The burial of Jane Ash aged 38 years is recorded at St Luke, Chelsea in 1820; her last address was New Manor Street
There is an 1841 UK Census entry at Tottenham Court Road for Joseph Ash aged about 60 years as a journeyman silversmith sharing the premises with Andrew and William Campbell who were also both in the silversmith business.
