ARTHUR, James (Grimwade p.426)

Postby MCB » Tue Jan 24, 2012 6:23 am

The 1851 UK Census indicates he was born in 1794.
He married Jesse(y) Pendleton at St Marylebone in 1825; both were of that parish.
There are christening records at St James, Clerkenwell in 1827 for Louise Elizabeth and in 1829 for Edward James, children of James and Jesse Arthur. James was recorded as a silversmith from St John’s Street Road.
The 1841 UK Census recorded James Arthur aged 45 years with his wife Jessey and daughter Louise at Manifold Place, Kennington where he was a corn dealer.
By 1851 they had moved to 11 Castle Street, Marylebone where he was still in the same trade.
