Born around 1757.
Entered a maker’s mark at Goldsmiths Hall in 1790 as a goldworker from 18 Staining Lane.
He married Mary Udall at St Stephen, Coleman Street on 25th March 1780; both were from that parish.
Freedom of the City of London documents for Thomas Mayfield (born 1781), for Benjamin Mayfield (born 1790) and for Samuel Udall Mayfield (born 1794) record they were the sons of Thomas Mayfield goldsmith.
Apprentice Indentures for Thomas Whitefield in 1791, Isaac Wornham in 1803, John Holyland in 1808 (see Forum topic “Some known journeymen”), Samuel Starkey (Grimwade p.379) in 1818 and Thomas Egerton White (Grimwade p.381) in 1821 variously record Thomas Mayfield of Staining Lane as an engraver, a goldsmith or a jeweller.
Thomas Mayfield junior died 1823.
