Born around 1799 in Barking, Essex.
Married Elizabeth Rogers on 31st October 1825 at St James, Clerkenwell.
Christening record for son John Thomas at St James, Clerkenwell dated 27th May 1827. Father recorded as a jeweller from King Street.
Christening record for sons George Thruston and William at St Mary, Islington dated 13th February 1831. Father recorded as a goldsmith from Richard Street.
Christening records for 6 further children at St James, Clerkenwell 1833-42. Father recorded as a goldsmith and jeweller from St James Street.
John Culme’s book (see below) records John Littleford in partnership with William Rapley (Grimwade p.386) until 1833.
1841 & 1851 UK Census records for 6 St James Street, Clerkenwell as a master goldsmith and jeweller. In 1851 sons William and George are recorded there as jewellers.
1861 UK Census for 17 Northampton Square, Clerkenwell as a jeweller and watch trader.
1871 UK Census for the same address as a goldsmith. Wife Elizabeth was recorded at the Royal London Ophthalmic Hospital on the Census for that year.
Died 18th April 1880.
National Probate Calendar for Principle Registry dated 19th June 1880. Last address Hanley Road. Value of estate under £100.
