Edward Witham Jnr.'s mark that was entered in July 1813 may be connected with the fact that an 'Edward Witham', Senior? Father? Perhaps?, was appointed to position of Assayer at the London Assay Office in 1812.

16 March 1819 Edward Witham of the Assay Office Goldsmiths Hall in the Parish of Saint Zachary's London Deputy Warden will proved at London. A large part of his estate went to his son Edward.
