Marriage of Matthew Lofthouse and Mary Barton at St Katherine by the Tower on 9th January 1697 supports Grimwade's suggestion that Mary Lofthouse was Matthew's widow.
There is a burial record for a Matthew Lofthouse at St John Zachary, Gresham Street and also at St Anne & St Agnes both dated 11th March 1730.
Also a burial record for a Mary Lofthouse for the same churches dated 19th February 1750.
