Born c1797.
Charles Lias of St Luke, London married Sarah Elizabeth Watson on 2nd February 1832 in Newark, Nottinghamshire (personal local bias would suggest he'd come all the miles up the Great North Road to marry one of Nottinghamshire's many lovely ladies for which, the author can confirm, the county is still rightly famous).
1841 & 1851 UK census for 65 Crown Street, Shoreditch as a silversmith aged 43 & 53 years respectively.
Died 1855.
England & Wales Deaths Index for Hackney register dated 4th quarter 1855.
London Deaths & Burials Index for St James, St Pancras dated 19th November 1855. Aged 58 years; last address Buccleuch Terrace, Clapton.
For further history of the Lias business see John Culme's Directory of Gold & Silversmiths 1838-1914 Vol. I p.295-6.
