WIGAN, Edward (Grimwade p.701)

19th April 1791 - Edward Wigan had his petion to be elected to the Livery rejected by the Goldsmiths' Court of Assistants. Reasons unknown, but Wigan got himself elected instead to the freedom and livery of the Cutlers by redemption in October 1791.
8th January 1795 - London Gazette of 10-14 March 1795 :237
"The partnership between Edward Wigan, Samuel Goodbehere, Robert Watts and John Wright carried on under the name of Watts, Wright and Co , Wholesale Linen Drapers No 17, Poultry is this day by mutual consent dissolved ."

Death of Edward Wigan . Gentleman Magazine March 1814:309 records
" In Highbury Terrace [Islington] aged 56 Edward Wigan Esq a partner in the respectable firm of Goodbehere, Wigan & Co, Goldsmiths in Cheapside; 24 years one of the representatives in Common Council fot the Ward of Cheap; and late Lieutenant -Colonel of the West London Militia .. .. .. .. He had for some time been afflicted with a severe ashma.. .. "
