The above pedigree provides two vital pieces of evidence for the long held belief that Edward Wigan (Grimwade p.701) was the son of Thomas Wigan of Bristol(Grimwade p.719).
Firstly the information that his mother was a Sarah . The apprenticeship of William Brimblecombe in 1755 mentions a Sarah as the wife of Thomas Wigan.
Secondly the information that Edward Wigan was married on 11 April 1782 to Jane Bond at Michael's in Bath , Somerset. This link to the West Coubntry also suggests that Edward may been in the Bath /Bristol area in 1782 , which may provides a reason for the long delay in his taking up his freedom of the Goldsmiths' until 1786.
