Goldsmiths Hall kalamazoo record gives a George Stewart, son of David Stewart apprenticed to John Lush , goldsmith in 1768 (Apprentice Book 8 page 144) who may be him , although it seems a long time before his sole mark as bucklemaker in 1788.
He was succeeded at 3, Kings Head Court, Gutter Lane by John Davenport, another silver bucklemaker in 1796
