2th0 Feb 1778 - George Stevens , son of George Stevens of Golden Lane (St Luke), Middlesex, silversmith, was apprenticed to Charles Hougham, Curriers' Company. The date is that given on British Origins and is probably when stamp duty was paid on the apprenticeship.
