Grimwade gives him entering marks in Monkwell Street in between 1757 and 1767. He is given there as a bucklemaker in PR1773

However on 17th August 1764 The Gazetteer and Daily Advertiser carried an advert
"To be Sold by Auction by Mr GEARE
THIS DAY the 17th Inst by Order of the Trustee of Mr JOHN GIBSON LEADBETTER, at his house , the corner of Monkwell Street, opposite Silver Street, Silver Buckle Maker and Plate Worker
THE Remainder of the Lease of the said House.. .. .. ..
Also all his Household Furniture , the Utensils and Patterns, and the Stock in Trade. "

No indication in the Gazette of his bankruptcy, so what happened ?
Did a son of the same name take over ?
Not present in the Poor Rate Assessment in 1776
