Almost certainly the John Davenport, son of Sanders Davenport , citizen and blacksmith (deceased) who was apprenticed on 29 March 1787 to Richard Parr, Spectaclemaker's Company. Richard Parr is recorded by Grimwade as "no record of apprenticeship or freedom", first mark 1773, last 1786 and in PR1773 as a bucklemaker . Parr's will of 1788 mentions John Davenport as an apprentice and leaves him £5.5.0 for mourning. Who Davenport was turned over to on Parr's death is unknown.
