In PR 1773 as bucklemaker.

Presumed to be dead by 10th July 1801 when Alice Burrows (his wife ) & George Burrows II (his son ) entered a joint mark as plateworkers at 14, Red Lion Street, although his will was not proved until 5 October 1801

Will of George Burrows ,Goldsmith of St John, Clerkenwell proved at PCC includes the following information .
"My freehold House No 1 Wardens Court Clerkenwell and my Leasehold No 14 Red Lion Street Clerkenwell "
"my Sons George and John Burrows, my Daughters Anne and Ester Burrows"
"I give to my Daughter Alice Burrows for her marriage portion "
" my five Children.. .. .. namely George and John Burrows, Anne and Ester Burrows and Ester [ error for Alice ?] Austin "
and appoint my Wife Alice Burrows , my Brother Thomas Burrows and my Son George Burrows my whole and sole executors and executrix .

Alice Burrows was probably dead or retired by 17 May 1819 when George BURROWS II entered a solo mark

Further information from MCB (Mike) tells:-

George Burrows burial record at St James Clerkenwell gives him as aged 66, thus born around 1735.

The marriage of George Burrows to Alice Haynes at St James Clerkenwell in 1763 thus indicates he was around 32 years old at the time of the wedding .

Alice was probably the daughter of George & Ann Haynes who was christened in 1742 at St James Clerkenwell. Her death in early 1819 , aged 76, agrees well with this .
