French Teas Set

Postby mikey » Sat Mar 24, 2007 2:05 pm

Can anyone ID the maker's mark on the pieces of this set?
What is the name of the "bird" symbol - oiseau [bird], alouette [lark], or ?
The head of Minerva indicates Paris.

Thanks in advance.....Mikey

Hello, looks like Auguste Leroy from Paris, active 1891 - 1935. The bird seems to be an alouette. Best wishes, Bahner

Thanks for the help. Leroy would make sense, as his time would coincide with the era when my mother may have obtained the set.

Is the large covered pot, without handle, for sugar? Or is a suger vessel missing, and does the pot serve another purpose?
