Hippolyte-Pierre Bompard
Born: 25 Apr 1806, Paris, 11th arrondissement, son of Gabriel Jacques Andre Bompard & Marie Josephine Lefevre
Married: 9 Dec 1837, Paris, 4th arrondissement, to Eugenie Victoire Lebaudy
Died: 12 Aug 1872, Paris, 6th arrondissement

His father Gabriel was also a silversmith, whose business he assumed in 1834; Hippolyte Bompard was, in turn, succeeded by Antoine Cosson-Corby in 1851.

As an amusing aside, the 1770 baptismal record of the elder Bompard has a notation dated 14 Jun 1836 that the family name was legally decided by the Civil Tribunal of Paris to be spelled "Bompart" rather than "Bompard"; this adjudication was evidently immediately and completely ignored, the family name thenceforth being almost exclusively spelled "Bompard".
