Hi, please help identify this piece. I believe it is a Roberts and Dore egg cup. There are 2 marks. What I would like to know is the age, the quality of silver(or is it silver plate), and the meaning of the 2nd mark. Any other info will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help.

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

No, not Roberts & Dore, and not English.

It's French, made by Ravinet (Louis) & D'Enfert (Charles). See: http://www.925-1000.com/Ffrench_makers_R.html

To understand the other mark, see: http://www.925-1000.com/Ffrench_marks.html

Hi Trev, Does the minerva 1 hallmark mean this silver has a fineness of 950? Does the maker's mark put the age of this piece around 1900?

Thanks for your help.

Yes, and Yes.
