Marks on a spoon.

I hope someone can help me with these French marks. They are on a rather nice little parcel gilt spoon. The maker’s mark seem to be ‘EC’ or ‘EG’ with what looks like a bird between the letters.

Perhars this is Emile Chaponnet. His mark was "a capon".

Thanks Alex. That is spot on. French silver is a great gap in my knowledge, but if we all know something about something, then someone will have the answer!
