(for me) unknown silver hallmark on cutlery

Postby uhrenfan » Sun Nov 13, 2011 6:36 pm

Hi....usually I am a watch collector. Our family owns for many year cutlery with the following hallmarks which I couldn't identify yet...I hope this is not a too easy question for you...I don't even know from which country the cutlery is from...my parents bought it from a french speaking dealer...
Thanks for help
hallmark 1 a 'D' with one sinuous line above.
hallmark 2 a figure '800' with a big 'A' above

that's all.
:-)
Would have to love to place pics...but don't know how...
Greetings from Germany

Hello,
The 'D' mark belongs to the Belgian silversmith Delheid.

“Delheid Frères” maker’s mark:

D crowned with a serpent, (snake). Sometimes you will find the maker’s mark upside down.
