Postby fripou » Sat Feb 27, 2010 5:55 pm

Hello

I just bought a very nice and heavy saucepan made by Théodor Tonnelier

Sorry for the awfull photo, it was taken with the webcam.. I don't have my super camera with me !

Can someone tell me more about the maker Théodor Tonnelier ?
I just know that he worked in Paris from 1798 on.
Was he famous? is he still famous?

Thanks a lot in advance for your help

François

Hi François,

Just to say welcome back, you've been away far too long.

Tonnelier's working period, I believe, was from 1798-1838, his main surviving pieces appear to be beakers.

Hopefully someone can provide better information soon.

Thank you for your message !

I haven't bought anything for a long time ! So I didn't post any messages.

But I had been looking for a nice saucepan for a long time, and this one is big and heavy ! So I had to buy it !

The problem is, I am also leering(if that is the correct word...?) at a French Empire tripod coffee pot, whit horse spout....
I have been wanting one for some time, now...
I saw it on Satruday, and I think I shall also buy it...

Oh my banker will not be happy !
But I shall !
