Cardeilhac silverware

I am surfing the web now for a few hours and just a few moments ago I found this site. I have bought at an exhibition of antiquities a silverware (123 pieces) of, as the seller told me, Cardeilhac. I still hope, that that info was right, but I am no specialist in silverware and I do hope that someone in this forum can verify this by means of the photos I took. The second thing I'd like to know is, what the design is called, as the seller couldn't tell me himself. The fine line around the silverware resembles a little the "Augsburger Faden", but there is this shell at the end of the shaft.

I enhanced your picture of the maker's mark.
Looks like the Christofle mark to me.

I think Christofle took over Cardeilhac in 1951.
The mark to the right in your picture is probably the Cardeilhac trademark Christofle used along with their mark.


I hope someone more experienced with French marks can provide additional information.

I think the pattern is called Arcantia, perhaps someone here can confirm this?

as I own Christofles Model Arcantia I can definitely tell you, that this isn`t Arcantia. But indeed it looks very similar. The right name of this model is :" Filet Coquille" . Because of its similiar appearance, Christofles Arcantia often is falsely named Coquille. The filet Coquille flatware is nothing else as an "Augsburger Faden" (in french: "Filet") ormanented at the end of the grip with the shell of the Arcantia. In my opinion not such a good creation.
