Need help on a French mark

Postby dragonflywink » Wed Apr 02, 2008 5:43 am

Can't seem to make out the mark on this small 1st standard spoon and the picture posted is as good as I could get. There appears to be three tiny letters on the left (TON?), I can't tell what the symbol is, but there is definitely an "E" on the right. Thanks to anyone who tries to help me ID this one.

Hello, could it be that the mark left of the chalice is what remained of an incompletely struck "G" ? The mark "G chalice E" is that of Georges Etienne from Paris. Best wishes, Bahner

Thank you, Bahner. A chalice is certainly a possibilty, I don't find an example of the mark you mention, but under a 30x loupe, it appears to be three small letters to the left of the symbol on this mark.
