Ames (Mnfg) Company-What is known beyond swords?

Post by Traintime »

Having aquired an AMC Sterling compote, and finding that Gorham had reportedly taken over their production long ago, I became curious to know what has been reported of the history of their wares. The answer seems to be not much beyond swords and pointy objects...even the wiki entry is rather weak.
One search turned up an old non-military plated wares reference (Item 18) credited to output of James T. Ames of Chicopee: https://books.google.com/books?id=Zjk_A ... ee&f=false

This site's entries [search Ames, Ames Co., or Chicopee] do yield some personalities that had at a point in their careers been associated with AMC, but generally found in relation to news of other firms like Gorham.

Does anyone know more about this firm or their non-hacking products?
